COMMUNITY FIBRE INSTALLATION

The Swindon Fibre Installation Project was a major undertaking that brought ultra-fast broadband to many homes and businesses in town. The project involved excavating 430,000 meters of new trenches, installing ducting, and blowing, splicing, and testing the fiber optic cables.

The project team used a hybrid installation that incorporated both new underground trenched duct network and existing overhead infrastructure. This hybrid approach allowed the team to deliver the project quickly and efficiently, while minimising disruption for residents.
